Q&A With Jay
A successful campaign usually starts with…
A clear end state that we can use to work backwards from. Having a clever idea and hoping for a good outcome or big gaps in how we achieve key metrics is always a recipe for trouble. All the critical outcomes should be tied to reality and the creative part is how we get there.
Teammates would probably describe me as…
I'm not sure my ego can handle the answer here! (kidding)
I feel most accomplished when…
I can learn something new in the course of solving a problem. Maybe that's tweaking our process or maybe that's building an entirely new tool. I love to learn but especially when I can apply that to making our jobs better.
What do you enjoy about working at Transistor?
We have a lot of freedom in our day to day as well as bigger picture, in the approaches we take to help clients. I don't do well in environments with rigid process or too many rules. I we do our best work when we have more flexibility to explore options and pivot away from things that aren't working.
What do you appreciate most about your teammates?
They support each other and care about our clients' success. But if I had to pick one, it's that they support each other. Our team is always willing to take time out to help someone get through a challenge or brainstorm ideas. They get creative about dividing work when there's too much. And they genuinely appreciate the different experiences and skills that each person has and can bring to a situation.
Favorite way to spend a weekend?
A random adventure. Is there a place 2 hours away that is supposed to have amazing tiramisu? Let's go!
What’s something small that makes your day better?
A quick walk outside. Fresh air, sunshine and a bit of exercise do a lot for your mood.
If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?
Playing the stock market?
